We are pleased to announce the publication of a new fifth
edition of our successful Competition Survival Pack. The Pack is
updated for 2011. It is relevant to in-house counsel, company
directors and those responsible for competition compliance. It
continues to give an overview of the essentials of competition law
in the UK and EU, while also explaining the impact of the law on
your business.
New developments covered in the pack include:
- the new EU block exemption on vertical agreements and the evolving thinking on internet sales, passive sales, resale price restrictions, category management and access payments;
- the UK Government's proposals for changes to the UK competition regime, including the possible amalgamation of the Office of Fair Trading and the Competition Commission, the rethinking of sector regulators' priorities, possible changes to the criminal cartel offence aimed at securing more successful convictions and possible changes to the UK merger control regime;
- the new EU block exemptions on horizontal agreements covering R&D agreements and specialisation agreements;
- the progress of the European Commission's initiatives on private enforcement of competition law breaches and collective redress mechanisms.
