Maples and Calder, the Maples Group's law firm, is pleased to announce that Caymanian Finance Associate, Renee Lindo, has commenced her one-year secondment in its Dubai office.

As a recipient of the Maples Group's legal scholarship, Renee began her career with the organisation as an intern, and was later accepted as an Articled Clerk with the law firm before her admission as an attorney-at-law into its Finance practice.

Commenting on the opportunity, Renee said, "I am looking forward to the changes and growth, both professionally and personally, that this opportunity will bring. While I expect that the nature of work will be similar, as our Dubai office practises Cayman Islands law, I anticipate that I will be required to approach tasks from a slightly different starting point given varied client needs and expectations and the specific Islamic law considerations for this region."

Tina Meigh, Head of the Cayman Islands Finance team, added, "We are committed to providing the highest quality of training and education to our people. A secondment offers them the opportunity to learn, grow and expand both geographically and intellectually laying the foundation to becoming a well-rounded professional with experiences that can be used throughout their career."

As a global organisation, the Group is pleased to offer staff the excellent opportunity to share knowledge and experience across borders while enhancing their skillset by working alongside industry leaders outside of their jurisdiction. In addition to increasing employees' professional network and fulfilling their career goals, secondments encourage the development of a global mind-set, returning with enhanced skills to support their career progression. With 16 offices worldwide, this global mobility strategy is offered at all levels and is one of the many benefits of working for a truly international organisation that is committed to investing in the training and development of its people.
