Appleby advises Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) on its investment in Grab Holdings Inc. (Grab).

Appleby acted as Cayman Islands counsel to MUFG on its USD706 million equity investment in ride-hailing firm Grab, with the funding to be used by Grab to offer lending, insurance and wealth management products and services for Southeast Asian consumers and small and medium-sized enterprises.

The Appleby team, led by Cayman Islands based Partner David Bulley and supported by associate Dean Bennett, worked on the transaction with lawyers from Morrison & Foerster Singapore, who acted as lead counsel to MUFG.
