Amy Condon will speak along with representatives from the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development at the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce's Paid Family Medical Leave Educational Session, taking place 8 a.m. on September 19 at the Chamber offices in Boston.
This program is particularly timely since the Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) law will go into effect October 1, when a tax of 0.63% will begin to be collected to pay for it. The Massachusetts PFML law establishes a system for paid family leave of up to 12 weeks to care for a family member and up to 20 weeks for your own illness.
At the session, businesses can learn about the program and its implementation, as well as ask any questions relevant to them to make sure they are ready.
