Ogier's Latin American team has been recognised as one of the best-established groups for work with Brazilian clients in Latin Lawyer 250.

The team led by partner Giorgio Subiotto – who practised at Pinheiro Neto Advogados in São Paulo in the 1990s – is praised for its "large roster of loyal clients" and for "the quality of the team's work as well as its understanding of their needs".

Giorgio is named alongside fellow partners: James Heinicke (Cayman finance law), Bradley Kruger (Cayman corporate law), Anthony Partridge (Cayman trusts and private wealth law) and Simon Schilder (BVI corporate law).

Senior associate Tim Cone is also referenced, having just returned from a secondment with Pinheiro Neto last year.

Latin Lawyer's reference to the firm records that "the firm is busiest in the funds space", has been "building its experience of fintech" and is "active elsewhere in the region, in Chile, Argentina, Peru and Central America for example".

Giorgio said: "We have a significant share of the investment funds and private equity work in the region, and are seeing increasing interest in the use of Cayman and BVI vehicles in corporate work, as well as private wealth structuring.

"Broadening our service offering in Brazil in particular has enabled us to build existing relationships and to create new ones, and we are seeing a steady flow of instructions."
