Nicholas Tyacke, a leading intellectual property lawyer, has joined DLA Piper as a partner in our Life Sciences and Intellectual Property & Technology Teams in Sydney. He has joined DLA Piper from Clayton Utz.
Nicholas is a dual-qualified (Australian and US) specialist intellectual property litigator. He offers a level of experience unique to the Australian market, having spent many years litigating intellectual property disputes in both the US, at leading US patent litigation law firm Fish & Neave, and Australia.
Nicholas specialises in advising and acting for local, regional and international clients with respect to all aspects of patent law, particularly patent protection strategies and disputes in the life sciences sector, as well as copyright and trade mark law.
Nicholas' clients have included Fortune 500 companies across the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical technology industries. He is recognised for his work on complex, multi-jurisdictional disputes and he has acted in a number of Australia's and the US' significant intellectual property disputes.
Nicholas' appointment, and his joining of our established Life Sciences team, will not only add capability to our national Intellectual Property & Technology team, but will also deliver market-leading patent capability on the ground in Sydney.
