Macfarlanes has advised leading European private equity firm Charterhouse Capital Partners (“Charterhouse”) on the tax aspects of its acquisition of animal healthcare business Animalcare Group plc (“Animalcare”).

The acquisition follows Animalcare’s delisting from the London Stock Exchange’s AIM market.

Charterhouse is one of Europe’s longest established private equity firms, focusing on investments into European mid-market companies across the services and healthcare sectors.

Animalcare is headquartered in the UK and has a strong presence throughout Europe and the APAC region. It holds around 150 animal health pharma brands.

The Macfarlanes team was led by Tax Partner James McCredie with support from Senior Counsel Beth Leggate and Senior Associate Sam Pettinger-Harte. Ankita Maheshwari and Andrew O’Riordan provided funds flow and share capital table modelling expertise.
