Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer's global head of ESG/Sustainability, Silke Goldberg, has been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award for ESG & Sustainability at The Legal 500 UK ESG Awards 2026 - the most prestigious individual honour presented at the ceremony.

Silke is widely recognised as a leading authority in ESG law in the UK and internationally. Over a career spanning more than two decades, she has been at the forefront of developments at the intersection of energy, climate change, and ESG regulation. She has advised clients on complex and strategically significant ESG challenges globally and has shaped advanced ESG due diligence frameworks now adopted by major corporates.
Silke has played a pivotal role in developing the firm’s market‑leading ESG capabilities, which include digital innovative tools such as the CSRD Mapper and the Global ESG Tracker, which support clients in navigating evolving and highly complex regulatory regimes. She has also been instrumental in building the firm’s ESG team across different practice areas and disciplines and sectors, upskilling lawyers across practices and jurisdictions.
