Katten's Structured Finance and Securitization Practice demonstrated exceptional performance in the 2025 league tables published by Commercial Mortgage Alert and Asset-Backed Alert, reflecting significant growth across multiple securitization categories.
Katten's Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities (CMBS) team also achieved remarkable growth in 2025. According to Commercial Mortgage Alert, "Katten Muchin came on like gangbusters" as top-five underwriter counsel for CMBS, with 36 deals totaling $22.6 billion, a dramatic increase from just seven deals totaling $4.5 billion in 2024, representing more than a five-fold increase in deal count and volume. For issuer counsel for agency CMBS, Katten was also in the top five, with six deals totaling $2.9 billion, focusing on Fannie Mae transactions.
According to Asset-Backed Alert's 2025 league tables, Katten continues its streak in the top 10 placements among the most active issuers' counsel for US asset-backed and mortgage-backed securitizations, with 53 deals and a total issuance volume of $42.1 billion. On the underwriters' counsel ranking for US ABS/MBS, Katten was in the top 20 with 11 deals totaling $5.6 billion in issuance volume. These results underscore the continued strength and growth of Katten's Structured Finance and Securitization team across the ABS, MBS and CMBS markets.
