Anne M. Mohan, Counsel in our Insurance Group, who serves as Co-Chair of the Hunterdon County Bar Association Mock Trial Committee, co-managed the 2026 Hunterdon County High School Mock Trial Competition held from January 31 to February 3, 2026. Alongside John Macce, Esq., and Lyn Brokaw, Anne helped ensure a successful event, providing students with an invaluable opportunity to develop legal advocacy skills.
Sponsored by the New Jersey State Bar Foundation and the Hunterdon County Bar Association, the competition provides a fictitious case in which the students play the parts of attorneys and witnesses. This year's case was a criminal case, State of New Jersey v. Devon Ransom, dealing with "swatting" (the false report of emergencies) at a local coffee shop. The competition concluded on February 3rd at the Historic Courthouse in Flemington and was presided over by the Hon. John J. Burke, III, PJ Family Division, and the Hon. Robert Ballard, PJ Civil Division.
