McKercher LLP Partner, Joe Gill, Named Lexpert Rising Star 2025.
McKercher LLP is proud to announce that Joe Gill, Partner in our Saskatoon office, has been recognized as a 2025 Lexpert Rising Star: Leading Lawyer Under 40–one of Canada's most prestigious legal honours for emerging leaders in the profession.
Joe is the third lawyer in McKercher LLP's 100-year history to receive this national recognition, which is awarded annually by Lexpert to a select group of lawyers under 40 who demonstrate excellence in leadership, innovation, and community impact. The award is determined by a panel of senior legal experts from across Canada and celebrated at a gala attended by hundreds of legal professionals.
Joe's practice focuses on technology, capital raising, and tax law, with a particular emphasis on supporting high-growth startups across the Prairies. He has advised hundreds of innovation-driven enterprises and serves as lawyer-in-residence for Co.Labs, Cultivator, and Opus. Joe also founded and chairs McKercher's Technology and High Growth Startups Practice Group. His efforts extend beyond the legal community as well, with his roles as Past Chair of the Saskatoon Chamber of Commerce, Vice-Chair of Creative Saskatchewan, Chair of Ideas Inc., and past sessional lecturer at the University of Saskatchewan, College of Law, as well as numerous steering and strategic committee appointments for entrepreneur and legal-focused organizations.
