Taft Detroit partner Nicole Meisner and of counsel Katherine Razdolsky Rothstein, as well as Taft Washington DC partner Sean Ruff will be speaking at the Electronic Transactions Association's (ETA) Payments Compliance Conference in Washington DC on Nov. 5-6, 2025.
Ruff, Meisner, and Rothstein will be speaking on a total of four different panels during the conference. Ruff will join the "PayFacs and Other Payment Models" panel, Meisner will be speaking on "Surcharging and Cash Discounting" as well as "Money Transmission," and Rothstein is set to join the "Banks Oversight of Fintechs" panel.

Meisner chairs Taft's PayTech and Payment Systems practice group. She counsels a wide range of companies in the payments and financial services industries, including acquiring banks, payment processors, independent sales organizations (ISOs), payment facilitators, marketplaces, mobile payment providers, FinTech companies, ACH providers, money transmitters, prepaid access providers, and digital currency companies.
Ruff is a partner in Taft's Financial Services, FinTech, and PayTech groups. He advises financial institutions, fintech companies, global marketplaces, and digital asset platforms on regulatory, transactional, and strategic matters spanning a wide range of consumer and commercial financial services. With a core focus on both federal and state regulatory frameworks, Ruff helps clients navigate complex legal regimes while developing, scaling, and acquiring innovative financial products.
Rothstein is senior counsel in Taft's PayTech and Payment Systems practice group, where she counsels business clients on a wide variety of payment and technology related matters. She is experienced in drafting various agreements for payment products, as well as negotiating software, system, service and platform agreements. Rothstein counsels clients on compliance with complex payment laws, regulations and industry rules, and is skilled at identifying and assisting clients mitigate operational, contractual, and compliance risks.
