J A Kemp provided IP due diligence advice to Genmab A/S (Nasdaq: GMAB) on its proposed acquisition of biotech firm Merus N.V. (Nasdaq: MRUS), which was announced on 29 September 2025.

The all-cash transaction, valued at approximately USD 8.0 billion, is expected to meaningfully accelerate Genmab's shift to a wholly owned model, expanding and diversifying the company's revenue into the next decade.

The proposed acquisition includes petosemtamab, a bispecific antibody which is currently in Phase 3 clinical development for head and neck cancer.
