Cadwalader Fund Finance partner Leah Edelboim has been elected to the Board of Directors of Food Bank For New York City, continuing the firm's more than four-decade-long commitment to the organization and its mission of ending hunger.

Cadwalader's partnership with Food Bank began with the firm's former chairman and managing partner, the late Jack Fritts, who incorporated the nonprofit on a pro bono basis – New York City's first food bank founded in 1983 and served on its board for many years. Food Bank honored his legacy in 2018 by naming its distribution center in the Hunts Point Cooperative Market the Jack Fritts Food Distribution Center. Food Bank For New York City is now New York City's largest hunger relief organization.

That tradition of leadership has continued through financial services partner Lary Stromfeld, who has served on the board for the past 10 years. Lary is the founder of Justice Served, a citywide legal community campaign that celebrated its tenth anniversary this year and to date has funded more than seven million meals for New Yorkers in need. Earlier this year, Leah joined the newly formed Justice Served Steering Committee, helping guide the initiative into its second decade.

"Food Bank For New York City embodies the heart and soul of service, ensuring that our neighbors have access to the most basic of needs. I am deeply honored to continue this important Cadwalader tradition of support for Food Bank and I look forward to working with my fellow board members, Food Bank's leadership and the broader community to help advance this vital mission," said Leah. "In addition to board service, Cadwalader is proud of its tradition of providing other support for Food Bank such as fund raising and pro bono legal support."

"Fighting hunger is one of the core initiatives of Cadwalader's commitment to the communities where we live and work. We actively support these efforts in every city where we are located. I am honored to have contributed to this commitment over the past 10 years," added Lary. "Leah has already demonstrated her leadership through Justice Served and I am excited for the future of this relationship under her guidance."

In addition to her pro bono and community commitments, Leah is widely recognized as a leading voice in the fund finance industry.
