"Let's support one another. Progress is stronger when it is shared."
Role and Leadership
Sizakele Zindela leads Forensic Services at SNG Grant Thornton, inspired by the opportunity to make a difference every day. Under her leadership, the division assists clients in investigating fraud, corruption, and revenue leakages, helping them get to the root of problems and strengthening integrity within their organisations. She believes forensics is not just about solving cases but about building trust, restoring confidence, and preventing future risks.
Her career began with an early curiosity and drive that saw her finish school at just 15. In 2002, she joined the forensic fraternity as the first female investigator at the Post Office. Entering a space that was male-dominated, she often questioned whether she belonged, but her passion for justice, integrity, and making a difference kept her grounded. That passion shaped her journey and continues to define her leadership approach today.
Industry Outlook
Sizakele sees the future of forensics as deeply shaped by technology and artificial intelligence (AI). With the rise of cybercrime and AI-driven financial fraud, she is focused on expanding digital forensic capabilities, including e-discovery, data extraction, and advanced analytics tools. Her outlook emphasises:
Digital forensics: at the forefront leveraging global tools and networks to address emerging risks.
Solutions tailored to context: recognising that every client and environment faces unique challenges.
Trust as a differentiator: combining expertise with empathy to ensure clients view SNG Grant Thornton as a trusted partner.
Above all, she is committed to ensuring forensic services empower organisations and communities to thrive in a safe, transparent, and just environment.
Women Powering Progress
For Sizakele, Women Powering Progress means intentionally opening doors for those coming behind her. She reflects:
"We must be intentional about helping others progress. It is not enough to speak about progress as an idea; we must actively mentor, support, and create opportunities so that women gain access to spaces that were not previously open to them."
Brand Purpose – Turning Growth into Shared Progress
When asked what Turning Growth into Shared Progress means to her, Sizakele says:
For me, turning growth into shared progress means that we don't leave anyone behind. Growth must be progressive in nature, inclusive, and ensure that we create pathways for those who come after us.
Whatever contribution we make, it must be wholehearted and focused on building a better, more sustainable future.
Creating Client Value
Sizakele's team provides both proactive and reactive forensic solutions, including:
- Digital forensics and cyber-driven investigations
- Proactive forensic audits, probity audits, and due diligence
- Investigations into fraud, corruption, and compliance breaches
- Post-investigation support, including expert testimony in civil and criminal matters
- Dispute support and predictive analytics for risk prevention
She works alongside clients to ensure technology delivers tangible benefits, reduces risks, and empowers teams to make better decisions.
Future Outlook
Sizakele believes the future of forensics lies in staying ahead of digital and AI-driven risks. She envisions a practice that continues to grow its global networks, invests in new technologies, and ensures financial inclusion does not equate to financial vulnerability.
