Goodwin earned the #42 spot on The American Lawyer's 2025 Pro Bono Scorecard: National Report, climbing eight spots in the last year and a combined 42 spots over the last three years. The annual report ranks Am Law 200 firms by their pro bono score for work performed by US-based lawyers. The rankings are based on the average number of pro bono hours per US lawyer and the percentage of US lawyers who performed more than 20 hours of pro bono work in the previous calendar year.
In 2024, our US lawyers contributed an average of 64 pro bono hours, with nearly 100% of associates participating. This work spans numerous practice areas with broad impact including championing voting rights, empowering young people, fostering culturally robust and environmentally sound neighborhoods, and pursuing pathways to citizenship.
Goodwin's Pro Bono Initiative leverages our lawyers' interests, passions, and expertise to help individuals, small business owners, and nonprofit organizations that could not otherwise afford legal assistance.
