Kaufman Rossin, the largest independent CPA and advisory firm in Florida and one of the top 50 firms in the U.S., has promoted Elan Sternberg, CPA, CVA, to principal within the firm’s Forensic, Advisory and Valuation Services group.

Sternberg specializes in forensic accounting and litigation consulting services, working closely with trial attorneys, in-house counsel, corporate boards, and management teams in the context of complex commercial litigation, fraud investigations, and business disputes. His expertise includes economic damages analysis, lost profits calculations, intellectual property infringement damages, and construction claims.

He joined Kaufman Rossin in 2016 after serving as an auditor at a national public accounting firm in Philadelphia, where he managed various aspects of integrated audit engagements, including financial statements and internal controls.

“Elan’s promotion to principal is a testament to his deep expertise, commitment to excellence, and the high level of trust he has earned from both clients and colleagues,” said Michael Elkin, a leader within the Forensic, Advisory and Valuation services group. “His leadership, integrity and dedication continue to elevate our practice, and we’re excited to see him take on this new role.”

Sternberg provides investigative and dispute consulting services that support clients navigating high-stakes litigation and complex financial investigations. He was court-appointed by the Honorable Judge Michael Hanzman as the forensic accountant in the Surfside (Champlain Towers) collapse litigation matter, where he assisted the Court in evaluating and quantifying the economic damages sought by the plaintiffs. He also has experience serving as a court-appointed receiver, responsible for preserving assets, resolving disputes, and overseeing operations. In addition, Sternberg has been retained by court-appointed receivers in condominium and homeowners’ association disputes to conduct financial investigations and provide litigation consulting services.

Sternberg is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in both Florida and Pennsylvania and holds the Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) credential.
