In June 2025, MLT Aikins lawyer Jeremy Barber was appointed to the Board of Trustees of the MacKenzie Art Gallery in Regina. Jeremy was elected at the gallery’s 2025 Annual General Meeting, assuming the role alongside four other recently elected board members.

About Jeremy

Jeremy practises in the area of commercial law with an emphasis on technology contracting and also in the area of Aboriginal law. He has significant experience negotiating and drafting complex technology contracts for a diverse group of clients ranging from small tech companies to large enterprises.

In his Aboriginal law practice, Jeremy has assisted Indigenous clients in drafting and ratifying laws, developing governance materials and negotiating service contracts. He has also conducted in-depth legal research and crafted legal arguments and submissions to support Indigenous clients in litigation matters and in advancing rights claims.

The MacKenzie is Saskatchewan’s oldest public art gallery and has one of the longest and most meaningful histories of championing Indigenous art of any public gallery in Canada. Their collection is held in trust for the community, presenting art and experiences that help us understand each other, the world and who we want to be.
