BLG Vancouver, with the support of the Firm's Race Action Committee, is pleased to host an interactive discussion followed by a cocktail reception for racialized professionals from Vancouver's business and legal community. The event will take place on the evening of Thursday, June 19, 2025.

Angela Yadav, Chief Legal Officer, Vancity and Cherie Mah, Partner, BLG, will address the importance of equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), particularly in today's shifting political climate, with a focus on allyship and the benefits of EDI in corporate Canada.

Angela Yadav is the Chief Legal Officer at Vancity, and a seasoned litigation and regulatory enforcement lawyer known for her proactive, solutions-oriented approach. With extensive experience advising on complex legal matters, Angela brings strategic insight and clarity to high-stakes litigation and regulatory issues. At the Summer Solstice Social, Angela will speak about anti-racism, sharing her personal experiences navigating racism within the legal profession and reflecting on the broader challenges and responsibilities faced by legal leaders in advancing equity and inclusion.

Cherie Mah is a Partner in BLG's Financial Services Group, acting for private lenders, financial institutions and borrowers in a variety of debt financing transactions. Cherie sits on the Firm's National Diversity & Inclusion Council. She believes EDI programming and initiatives are integral to BLG's social fabric and continue to offer a compelling business proposition.

As we come together to kick-off the summer months, this will be an excellent opportunity to network, build connections and foster a sense of community within Vancouver's business and legal markets.

Please respond by June 12. We hope you can join us!
