MLT Aikins is pleased to have acted for Jowidana Hotels Ltd. in its sale of the Calgary Hyatt Regency hotel earlier this year.
The second-largest hotel sale in recent Calgary history, the iconic downtown hotel sold for over $100 million after being on the market since mid-2024. The new owner, the Niagara Falls-based Fallsview Group, also owns a number of hotels and other tourist attractions in southern Ontario. This is their first hotel in Alberta.
The transaction was led by Jason Paw (Calgary) and Daniel Yereniuk (Edmonton), and included Rob Worthington (Calgary, Tax), Melissa Guenette (Calgary, Tax) and Riley McKale (Calgary).
