Wrigleys' employment law team is pleased to announce that this year's Employment Law Conference will take place on 19 June at the Cloth Hall Court in Leeds. We look forward to engaging with attendees around this year's theme 'Changing Landscapes in the Modern Workplace'.
The day will include breakout sessions and opportunities to network with the speakers and other delegates, along with updates on the key recent developments in employment law. The conference will be beneficial to all those involved in managing people.

The Speakers
Professor Andy Charlwood
Introducing Professor Andy Charlwood as keynote speaker on Artificial Intelligence and the employment relationship
Professor Andy Charlwood is an expert in HR and people analytics, AI and algorithmic management in HR, and healthcare workforce management.
Andy is the Faculty Director of Student Equity at Leeds University Business School. His research focuses on digital technologies in HR and people management, and he has secured research grants from prestigious organisations such as the Department of Trade and Industry, ACAS, the British Academy, and the National Institute for Health Research.
Andy is actively involved in various external roles, including being a topic champion for employment on the scientific advisory committee for the Understanding Society longitudinal study and a member of the UKRI Interdisciplinary Assessment College. He is also an associate editor of the International Journal of Human Resource Management and a member of the council of the British Academy of Management.
Andy holds an MSc and a PhD in Industrial Relations from the London School of Economics and is a Certified Business and Management Educator.
Alacoque Marvin
Alacoque is a partner in our charities and social economy team.
Alacoque specialises in working with third sector and education sector clients on all aspects of employment law. She advises on complex employee relations issues, employment status, policies and procedures, employment contracts, settlement agreements and the defence of tribunal claims, including holiday pay, discrimination, whistle-blowing and trade union related claims. Alacoque also advises on redundancy and restructure projects and on TUPE transfers, including the requirements of collective consultation.
She has a particular interest in equality law and has considerable experience of the realities of managing staff and resources within the education and public sectors.
Alacoque edits Wrigleys' monthly Employment Law Bulletin and regularly speaks on employment law and HR topics.
Michael Crowther
Michael is an associate within our charities and social economy team at Wrigleys Solicitors LLP.
Michael has experience working with employer clients across the charity, third, education and private sectors on a variety of employment matters from boardroom disputes and senior terminations to advising on the employment aspects of mergers and restructures and helping clients navigate employment tribunal claims and internal investigations.
Michael has experience helping organisations to grow by advising on draft contracts as well as assisting with the development of robust internal policies and procedures and also has experience advising clients on how to deal with Data Subject Access Requests.
A regular speaker at Wrigleys' Employment Law Brunch Briefings, Michael aims to orientate listeners so that they can navigate complex topics, with a focus on helping to identify problem areas and the key issues so that appropriate advice can be taken at the right time.
Alexandria Evans
Alexandria is an associate within our charities and social economy team at Wrigleys Solicitors LLP.
Alexandria qualified as a solicitor in 2010 and joined Wrigleys Solicitors in 2024 as a specialist employment law solicitor. Alexandria brings a wealth of experience from both private practice and in-house roles within a Higher Education Institution. From the outset of her career, she has represented numerous high-profile commercial businesses operating across the UK. More recently, she has served as a trusted in-house lawyer at the University of Leeds, handling all aspects of employment law.
Alexandria has extensive experience in managing the employment aspects of corporate transactions and navigating complex employee relations issues from inception to defence in the Employment Tribunal. Alex prides herself on getting to know clients in depth. This means that she can deliver practical legal advice which enables her clients to achieve their objectives whilst at all times respecting their values and approach to people management.
