The Incorporated Societies Act 2022 (Act) and the Incorporated Societies Regulations (Regulations) are now fully in force.
The new Regulations provide information about the reregistration process, fees and administration matters.
Existing societies can reregister online under the new Act through the Companies Office from 5 October 2023.
As part of the reregistration process, societies will need to review and update their constitutions to ensure they comply with the requirements under the new Act. Many societies may not have reviewed their constitutions for some time. This provides an excellent opportunity to consider whether other changes could be usefully made to the society's constitution to better align it with its current practices and operations.
