This past week, the Read Alliance hosted a beautiful gala, fundraising for their cause and honoring Mark Moore, Adam Baxter, and Alicia Keys. Read Alliance works to increase children’s literacy in underserved communities by employing high school students as reading tutors for younger peers within their communities, and has now tutored over 20,000 students in New York and is expanding its programs nationally. The evening included many wonderful surprises including heartfelt (and amusing) videoed testimonials from Mark’s friends, family, and RPJ colleagues Alice Jump and Heidi Reavis. Congratulations to Read Alliance on a successful event and to Mark, who has devoted over a decade of active service to the Read Alliance and its noble cause.
The event’s corresponding silent auction featured generous donations from friends of RPJ such as Pianist Arturo O’Farrill, Chef Doherty of Blackbarn, Starr Five (Upland, The Clocktower, El Vez, Electric Lemon, and Pastis), Mark’s Off Madison, Matiz Architecture & Design, and Astor Wine and Spirits Center. Thank you to all for supporting RPJ in contributing to an incredible night and supporting such important work in our community – we are exceedingly proud of Mark and Read Alliance!
