Foley & Lardner LLP received the Wisconsin Association of Free & Charitable Clinics' (WAFCC) 2023 Corporate Partner and Pro Bono Impact Award.

The award honors Foley's work, namely the efforts of Foley public affairs directors Jason Childress and Alicia Schweitzer, on behalf of Wisconsin's free and charitable clinics and their unique approach to serving patients and their communities. Childress and Schweitzer assisted WAFCC in meeting with state legislators, navigating a divided state government, and securing increased budgetary support for multiple years.

"I'd like to congratulate Jason Childress, Alicia Schweitzer, and Foley for receiving our Corporate Partner and Pro Bono Impact Award," said Dennis Skrajewski, Executive Director of WAFCC. "Jason and Alicia are top notch government affairs representatives and Wisconsin is better off because of their efforts. For many years, Foley has provided invaluable assistance to WAFCC by championing our mission to support, strengthen, and advocate for Wisconsin's free and charitable clinics."

"Through pro bono government advocacy, legal services, and other types of support, Foley has helped WAFCC serve patients and our communities throughout Wisconsin," Skrajewski continued. "Foley will continue to be an integral partner with WAFCC as we continue to promote the elimination of health disparities among the uninsured, underserved, economically and socially disadvantaged, and vulnerable populations of Wisconsin."

"It has been a privilege to work with WAFCC as they serve communities across Wisconsin," said Schweitzer. "I am very grateful for this recognition and appreciate Foley's continued support as we move forward in our efforts to improve our state through pro bono services."

"I'm honored to be recognized by WAFCC," said Childress. "As part of Foley's commitment to the communities we serve, we look forward to continuing to offer a full suite of sophisticated services to all our clients, including our pro bono partners at WAFCC."

WAFCC tells the story of Wisconsin's safety-net clinic, their communities, their patients, and their continued need. Each year, the organization provides state advocacy, year-round education opportunities, consulting services, and most recently, telehealth services to clinics. WAFCC works to enhance the sustainability of new and existing free and charitable clinics by fostering collaboration, networking, and sharing resources.
