Kenya Woodruff, partner and deputy general counsel, was profiled by Texas Lawyer in its series on Best Mentors. The profile follows Texas Lawyer's recognition of Kenya during the 2022 Texas Lawyer Awards in July.
In her Q&A, Kenya discussed how she benefitted from good mentoring and the rewards and challenges of mentor-mentee relationships. The keys to strong relationships are trust and honesty.
"For these relationships to thrive and eventually meet the goals established at the outset, there must be trust that the mentor has a young professional's best interest in mind, and the mentee must understand that there is a bigger picture that he or she may not immediately see," Kenya said.
