Canada

Bill 18 has expanded legal protections to co-op students and unpaid interns in a variety of ways. Foremost amongst these are new amendments to the definition of worker under the Occupational Health and Safety Act, extending the protections of that Act to students and unpaid interns.

Frank Portman will discuss this topic and how employers can adjust and respond to this new legal framework at the Partners in Prevention 2015 Health & Safety Conference Trade Show in Mississauga on April 29.
