About Canan:
She graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry in 1985. Canan completed her master's degree in Dentistry at the same university in 1987, her MBA at Boğaziçi University in 1994 and her master's degree in Energy Technologies at Sabancı University in 2015. When she was working in the pharmaceutical industry, she held sales and marketing and commercial leadership positions at Hoechst Marion Roussel, Glaxo Wellcome, and Sanofi Aventis. After being appointed Global Vice President of International Marketing at General Electric Healthcare in Paris in 2007, she was appointed Global Marketing Director at General Electric Healthcare, US within two years. In 2013, Canan was appointed chair of the Board of Directors and General Manager at General Electric Ticaret ve Servis A.Ş.
During her career at General Electric Türkiye, she worked at TEI (TAI Motor Sanayii A.Ş.) and METCAP Group KOMET (joint ventures of GE), and was vice-chair of the Board of Directors of ABFT (American Business Forum in Türkiye). Canan is currently an independent member of the Board of Directors at Garanti BBVA; board adviser at TEMAŞ, a Tekfen Group company; and vice-chair of the Board of Directors at SEV Foundation. She is also the founding General Manager of Crowdsol, a new start-up.
