HKA announced today that Peter Garnett has joined HKA as Technical Director in the Forensic Technical Services (FTS) team, based out of the Warrington office.
Peter has over thirty years' experience in the mining and minerals industry comprising production, R&D, applications engineering and consultancy.
Peter's 'hands on' production experience was gained as the operations manager of a tar sands bitumen recovery plant, general manager of a silica sand processing plant, both located in northern Canada, and production superintendent of a calcium carbonate processing facility in Vermont USA. Peter has also held the position of plant metallurgist on diamond and gold operations in Southern Africa, and carried out similar roles at numerous locations both in the UK and overseas whilst working for mineral processing equipment manufacturers and consultants.
In respect of applications engineering and commissioning experience, Peter spent almost six years with Joy Process Equipment (Denver Process Equipment) on a wide range of projects and his experience was broadened further through ten years in the fields of consultancy and EPCM contracting in both the UK and Canada.
Peter also has 25 years' experience of leading on-site Health and Safety, being accountable for employee H&S across all the mining sites.
I am delighted to welcome Peter to the FTS Team. Peter's background is in mineral processing, where he has over 30 years experience in production and in R&D. With Peter on board, we aim to expand our capabilities across both the mining and mineral processing sectors and to grow our share of the disputes market in these fields.
