Dear Friends of Labuan,
Happy New Year 2021!
Yes, it has been challenging to be traditionally happy in welcoming 2021 with COVID-19 still abound but I am sure we are all breathing a sigh of relief with the vaccine advancements in providing a glimmer of light at the end of this pandemic tunnel!
Change is the only constant as they say, and we hope you like this "refreshed" Insight Plus, which we hope is even more mobile friendly.
The team and I recently had the opportunity to virtually brief our intermediaries on our market development plans in 2021, sharing our focus on the verticals of reinsurance, banking, wealth, and digital which will continue unabated. At the same time, we are keen to repolish Labuan IBFC's global reputation as an Islamic finance hub. And as we roll out our efforts, we are hoping to offer hybrid engagement sessions by mid-year while continuing our series of virtual webinars, which has allowed an expanded reach to non-Asian based markets.
So, a lot to look forward to in 2021, and a key highlight will be our annual "report card" published via Labuan IBFC's Market Report 2020. Do look out for its launch sometime in the next couple of months.
