Rental Rights

A rental right is provided for sound recordings and computer programs but not for films. (This contrasts with the UK, where films also enjoy a rental right.)

Moral Rights

New moral rights are provided, including an integrity right and a paternity right, alongside the existing false attribution right. These are enjoyed in perpetuity and inalienably by the author and his estate. In certain cases, the obligations in question may be contracted out of.

Rights in Performances

Expanded rights in performances are given to enable performers and persons having exclusive recording rights for their performances to protect the performers' live performances.
