The Cyprus Tax Department has issued a further reminder to
taxpayers that most direct taxes may now only be paid online via
the website JCCsmart.com. The taxes concerned are income tax
withheld from earnings under PAYE, reduction of wages in the wider
public sector, interim and final income tax of natural or legal
persons, and Special Defence Contribution. Payments must be made to
District Tax Offices only when they include interest and penalties
or when they arise from a revised self-assessment statement for
income tax.
The content of this article is intended to provide a general
guide to the subject matter. Specialist advice should be sought
about your specific circumstances.
