The SIPO recently issued the 2016 China IP Development Situation Evaluation Report, which shows that China IP comprehensive development index has been improving stably since 2010, doubled from 100 points in 2010 to 200.3 points in 2016.

In parallel to the stead increase in the number of IP rights, IP protection index sees a significant increase, from 100 points in 2010 to 216.6 points in 2016. In 2016, 48,916 cases are handled by patent administrative law enforcement, up 36.5% year-on-year. Valid customs recordation for IPR reaches 27,873, up 25.9% year-on-year.

Also, China enjoyed a higher rate of IP utilization. Software export rose from 26.7 billion US dollars in 2010 to 49.5 billion US dollars in 2016.

Trademark pledge financing rise from 14.5 billion yuan in 2010 to 65 billion yuan in 2016.

It is also noticeable that the patent commercialization rate stood at 46.0%; the number of transfer of patent filing right and patent right headed 137,897, 23.1 times as 2010. Patent pledge rose from 8.06 billion yuan in 2010 to 43.6 billion yuan in 2016.
