The City of Surrey, with its burgeoning high technology, clean energy, advanced manufacturing, health, education, agriculture, and arts sector, is British Columbia's second largest city and is one of Canada's fastest growing cities. Surrey is also home to Crowe MacKay's 7th office, which opened its doors in 1991. Since that time, Surrey has doubled in population to just over 500,000 making it the second largest city in the province and the twelfth largest in Canada.

As Surrey has grown, Crowe MacKay has too, with internal transfers from Vancouver and the merger of Lake & Associates to accommodate the growth and demand. Fast forward to 2015, our Surrey office, with resident partners Bill Gill and Craig Elliott is home to close to 20 professionals and support staff.

As an organization that has grown alongside of its community, the team in Surrey recognized that their strength was in their clients and the place in which they do business. The firm believes that a strong community creates endless opportunities for education, employment and increased quality of living. Not only do they get involved with charitable organizations as a firm, but employees are supported and encouraged to participate as individuals. Their initiatives include:

  • The Surrey Christmas Bureau Adopt-a-Family program
  • A $1,000 scholarship awarded to a Kwantlen Polytechnic University student with a career objective of pursuing a CPA designation who is also active in the community
  • Fundraising and sponsorship for charities focused on children including Variety, the Children's Hospital, Sunshine Foundation, The Centre for Child Development and the Sweet Smiles Society (benefiting City of Angels Orphanage and House of Hope and Love Transition House in Mexico)
  • Sponsorship of the Water for People Golf Tournament

As they approach their 25th anniversary in the community, Crowe MacKay's team in Surrey proudly lives the firm values – we care, we share, we invest, we grow – and looks forward to the continued success of their city.
