Yesterday morning, June 21, 2018, the Government's Bill C-45, which will enact the Cannabis Act, make changes to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act,  and the Criminal Code,  as well as other Acts, received Royal Assent.

As announced by Justin Trudeau yesterday, the Cannabis Act will permit the sale of recreational cannabis in Canada beginning on October 17, 2018 under the Act.
