On August 11, 2020, the Canada Revenue Agency ("CRA") released an updated CEWS calculator, CEWS support page and significantly expanded CEWS FAQs. The CRA also announced that applications for period 5 (i.e., July 5 to August 1) will open August 17, 2020.
The new CRA guidance reflects amendments to the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy ("CEWS") made pursuant to Bill C-20, An Act respecting further COVID-19 measures ("Bill C-20"), which received Royal Assent on July 27, 2020.
