AHPRA successfully prosecutes fake Queensland
chiropractor
AHPRA has successfully prosecuted a man in Queensland for unlawful
use of the protected title 'chiropractor' and holding out
as a registered health practitioner. Following an investigation,
AHPRA filed charges against Mr Zaphir in March 2017 alleging six
offences in contravention of sections 113 and 116 of the Health
Practitioner Regulation National Law (06 March 2018).

Health insurance: Public hospitals to cut back on
billing private funds
Public hospitals will be allowed to continue billing patients'
health insurers for treatment costs but the practice is likely to
be restricted through political reforms and new rules imposed by
insurers. Queensland Health Minister Steven Miles said in many
parts of his State there were no private hospitals, only public,
and excluding members could have unintended consequences (06 March
2018).
