Queensland Health says the Rockhampton nurse who sparked
the lockdown of a state-run aged care facility had been sent for
coronavirus testing after showing symptoms but went back to her

Eased coronavirus restrictions see Queensland
restaurants, cafes and salons reopen
Coronavirus restrictions have been lifted across
Queensland with 10 people allowed to dine in at restaurants and
cafes or visit beauty salons under stage one of the State
Government's plan. The eased measures mean thousands of
businesses can reopen and give the state a much-needed economic
boost (16 May 2020).

Coronavirus patients wanted by QIMR scientists for new
immunotherapy treatments
As the race to find a coronavirus vaccine continues, a
Queensland medical research team is instead looking to create
immunotherapy treatments for COVID-19. The QIMR Medical Research
Institute in Brisbane wants 50 volunteers who have contracted
coronavirus and been released from quarantine to donate their blood
(14 May 2020).

Partial easing of restrictions on elective surgery,
investigations and procedures
Following a National Cabinet decision, Australian hospitals have
commenced easing restrictions on elective surgery, investigations
and procedures from 27 April 2020. Health service organisations are
required to prepare and implement an organisation-wide Risk
Management Strategy to manage and reduce the risk related to the
transmission of COVID-19.
The Commission has developed advice to support health service
organisations and clinicians implement these requirements:
