New toolkit at Brisbane hospital reduces pain of opioid
prescriptions
Far fewer opioid-based painkillers have been prescribed in
the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital emergency department
following the implementation of a new framework for clinicians. The
Opioid Prescribing Toolkit has been developed to reduce reliance on
opioids by educating emergency department staff about strategies to
manage pain (25 September 2019).
