Similar to the prior year, there was a continuous decrease in interest rates during the first half of this year. Average interest rates on loans denominated in Sk were 12% in the second quarter of 1996. This represents a decrease of 1.6 percentage points compared to the same period of the previous year. With respect to deposits, average interest rates stabilised at 6.5%. The year on year decrease amounts to 1.9 percentage points.
