Lokke Moerel, a senior of counsel in Morrison & Foerster's Brussels' office, has received Lexology's 2021 Client Choice Award for IT & Internet in Belgium. Among the world's best-known privacy and cyber advisers, Lokke is regularly called upon by some of the most complex multinational organizations to confront their global privacy and ethical challenges when implementing new technologies and digital business models. One of Lokke's key roles is advising boards on their digital strategies and global cybersecurity incident responses and assisting companies with the global implementation of new technologies and platforms (such as AI and blockchain), based on privacy, ethics, and security by design. Lokke is also a professor of global ICT law at Tilburg University in the Netherlands, where she teaches students about global data protection and new technologies.
