SSEK Legal Consultants has been recognized as a leading M&A firm in Indonesia in the 2021 M&A rankings published by Asian Legal Business (ALB).
SSEK was named to Tier 1 for Indonesia. SSEK was one of just six firms to receive the highest ranking in the annual M&A survey conducted by ALB, published by Thomson Reuters.
ALB draws information from Thomson Reuters M&A data, interviews, editorial resources, firm submissions and market nominations to identify and rank the top firms in the M&A practice across Asia.
ALB reported that there were 482 deals worth $85.2 billion in Southeast Asia during the first half of 2021, according to Dealogic. The total was 141 percent higher than in the first half of 2020, which included 406 deals.
ALB reported that the significant increase in M&A deals in Southeast Asia was "powered, in part, by an uptick in PE activity, more corporate divestment and restructurings." It said a "big driver of M&A activity in Southeast Asia was digitisation and the shift toward a digital economy and e-commerce."
