Leader of New England's Largest Chamber Focused on Advancing Worcester's Revitalization

 

Robert D. (Bob) Cox, Jr., Managing Partner, Bowditch & Dewey, LLP, has been elected Chair of the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce for a two-year term that begins January 1, 2020. As Chair, he will lead the largest Chamber in New England–representing 2,100 members in 35 cities and towns in Central Massachusetts and beyond.

Serving as Clerk for the past two years, and as a valuable member of the Executive Committee, he has already contributed a great deal to the organization. With his knowledge of Worcester, and the region, and his deep roots in the community, we are fortunate to have him to provide guidance on our mission and day-to-day operations," said Timothy P. Murray, President and CEO of the Worcester Chamber.

Other Chamber officers for 2020 include Vice Chair Christine Cassidy,  Chief Communications Officer, Fallon Health; Treasurer Satya Mitra, President and CEO, The Guru Tax & Financial Services; and Clerk Eric Torkornoo,  Vice President, TD Bank.

Since 2017, Mr. Cox has been Managing Partner of Bowditch, which produces the region's annual Annual Economic Development Summit.

In addition to his active roles with the Chamber, he chairs the Environmental Business Council of New England, a nonprofit that supports and fosters the development of New England's environmental industry. Recognized as one of the nation's top environmental attorneys, he was recently named a Fellow of the American College of Environmental Lawyers (ACOEL) and is included in Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business; The Best Lawyers in America.
