DQ has expanded its regulatory and compliance services team.

Under the head of regulatory and compliance services, Sinead O'Connor, the company has appointed Mike Batey, Tess Bates and Ian Bancroft (not pictured) as consultants.

Earlier this year, island advocate Dawn Jones also joined DQ as a consultant.

Dawn Jones provides clients with a depth of knowledge and experience, particularly in regulatory enforcement.

Mike is an experienced figure in island business. A former managing director and board director with a bespoke insurance, pensions and wealth management group, Mike has also held senior roles in the fiduciary services sector and in a specialist management and actuarial consultancy.

He said: 'The work I have undertaken in recent years in financial services has principally involved product and market development, technical support and corporate governance.

'Teaming up with DQ is a logical extension of our long-term working relationship. I've been particularly attracted by the variety of work, the excellent client base and the chance to expand my breadth of experience with such a well-respected professional services firm.'

Tess qualified as a practising advocate in 2007 and has since been a compliance manager for a corporate service provider as well as undertaking regulatory and project-based work, including reviewing and overhauling money laundering, operational policies and procedures and providing ongoing compliance and audit support.

She practised as a commercial lawyer for several years before transition into regulatory and compliance.

She said: 'The opportunity to join the practice was very appealing. DQ is all about adding value, commitment to learning and professional development. I look forward to working with the team and continuing to build on its success.'

Ian will be well-known to many from his considerable years in the Isle of Man banking industry which saw him involved in many areas of changing legislation and regulation.

Sinead O'Connor has a wealth of knowledge in the compliance world and has also taken on the role of chief operating officer.

Sinead said: 'Mike, Tess and Ian will be tremendous assets to our team.

Their additions and the significant experience they bring, at a time when the demands placed on the industry are evolving, is a real coup.'
