Sparke Helmore Lawyers has been named a finalist in the "Contribution to the Region" category for the 2017 Hunter Business Awards.

"We could not have earned this nomination without the support and enthusiasm of our Newcastle staff and our Pro Bono & Community team who tirelessly assist local not-for-profits, charities and disadvantaged individuals with their legal and volunteering needs," said Mark Hickey, Sparke Helmore Chairman and Newcastle-based Partner.

"Sparke Helmore was founded in Newcastle more than 134 years ago. Our deep roots in the Hunter are very much a part of our culture and we are proud to have a strong involvement in the local community."

The Awards celebrate business excellence across the Hunter Region. Finalists for this category were selected based on their significant contributions to the Region's ongoing prosperity and growth, outside of their core business activities.

The awards ceremony will be held on Thursday 31 August at NEX (Wests City) in Newcastle.
