Congratulations to Aird & Berlis partner Dasha Peregoudova on being recognized by Precedent Magazine as one of six outstanding young lawyers to win the 2023 Precedent Setter Awards. These awards recognize Toronto lawyers, called to the bar in the last ten years, who have shown excellence and leadership in their practice and community.

Dasha is a valued member of the firm's Workplace Law, Litigation & Dispute Resolution and Sports, Media & Entertainment Groups. She is a talented young advocate with a significant commitment to community, and has made astounding contributions in her legal career as well as in the sports world. As a former elite level athlete (a Canadian national team member in Taekwondo and two-time Pan American champion), she has been an important voice in Canadian sport advocacy for nearly a decade.

Dasha's practice focuses on labour and employment matters, including employment disputes, grievances and collective bargaining and human rights matters. She works closely with various sports and arts organizations, with a focus on governance. In addition to her legal practice, Dasha held multiple volunteer positions championing athlete advocacy, including with Taekwondo Canada, the Sport Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada and acting as an athlete representative on the Pan Am Sports Legal Commission. In 2022, she was appointed Director of Sanctions and Outcomes of Abuse-Free Sport, Canada's independent mechanism which responds to, and seeks to prevent, maltreatment in the Canadian sport system.
