Shipman & Goodwin LLP is pleased to announce that managing partner  Leander A. Dolphin and partner  Matthew D. Ritter  have both been named to  Hartford Business Journal's  ("HBJ") "Power 50 List" for 2023. The list, released this week, highlights 50 private- and public-sector, nonprofit, higher education, real estate and healthcare officials in Greater Hartford who are not only top leaders within their organizations, but also of the broader community.

Dolphin, Shipman's managing partner, continues to advise universities, colleges, public school districts, independent schools and other clients on a variety of education and employment issues ranging from special education disputes to claims of sexual harassment and policies involving the Americans with Disabilities Act. In addition, she is active in the community, and in November, she was elected to the Connecticut Business and Industry Association's Board of Directors.   

Ritter, who practices in the areas of public finance, municipal law and election law at Shipman, was named for his service as Speaker of the House of the Connecticut House of Representatives. Matt and his counterpart in the Senate, Martin Looney were identified by HBJ in that capacity as "major influencers in shaping state policy." 

The  HBJ's Power 50 list for 2023  was released both digitally and in print this week.
