Jersey Finance and Banking

Jon Le Rossignol joins Walkers as Senior Counsel in the Banking & Finance team. Jon is returning to Jersey having spent the last five years practising Jersey law in London, prior to which he spent six years in London and Hong Kong with a magic circle firm. Jon has broad experience advising both lenders and borrowers on banking and finance matters involving Jersey entities. He has particular expertise in the financing and corporate restructuring of Jersey investment holding structures.

Jon's arrival further strengthens the Jersey transactional teams which benefitted recently from the recruitment of new senior associates, Dan Perkins and Louise Hamilton and associates James Shannon, Meg McAuley and James Barker-Willis.

Walkers' Jersey Managing Partner Jonathan Heaney said:

"We are delighted to welcome Jon to Walkers. He has a wealth of experience and is extremely well regarded by clients in London and internationally. Alongside this the appointments of Dan, Louise, James and Meg demonstrate the continued investment in the Jersey Finance, Corporate and Investment Funds team, and further highlight the importance of the jurisdiction to the global firm."

Sevyn Kalsi also joins Walkers, as a Senior Counsel in the Private Capital and Trusts team. Sevyn is experienced in advising high-net and ultra-high-net worth individuals, family and trust offices, private banks, corporate trustees, settlors, beneficiaries and intermediaries on all aspects of trusts, foundations and private capital. Sevyn also has particular expertise with cross-jurisdictional trust and corporate restructuring matters including the re-domiciliation of companies both into and out of Jersey.

Walkers' Head of the Channel Islands, Fraser Hern, commented that:

"Sevyn's hire is part of a well thought out plan not only to expand our Channel Islands business as a whole, but also to target the private capital sector in particular noting the incredible network of high-net worth, ultra-high-net worth and family office clients that the firm has worldwide, and the need for such clients to receive the same innovative and Tier 1 client service that our institutional client base has enjoyed for such a long period of time. Sevyn has a key role in the development of our Private Capital business, and we are excited by both his technical expertise and innovative style in finding solutions for clients".
