Davies Collison Cave and Davies Collison Cave Law ("Davies Collison Cave") have again been recognised by IAM Patent 1000 in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore.

This year's rankings recognised the firm as Gold tier for Patent Prosecution, Silver tier for Patent Litigation and Recommended for Transactions in Australia. The rankings also included 14 members of our team.

IAM noted that Davies Collison Cave "has maintained its "burnished reputation as a top-notch Australian firm in the biotech space". Sitting comfortably on top of the prosecution table, the 50-strong IP outfit consistently files among the highest number of originating patent applications across all technical disciplines."

DCC Patents Managing Principal, David Webber, is recognised as "equally adroit at drafting patents as he is in providing infringement briefs and freedom-to-operate advice". Hannah Brown, "advises on a wide range of technologies, including information and communications technology, microelectronics and physics"; Ross Clark "is passionate about devising the optimal IP strategies for his clientele"; Michael Caine is described as "a guiding light in intellectual property".

Making their debut in the IAM Patent 1000 rankings is Alistair Smith who "draws judiciously on his UK and Europe drafting experience"; Gavin Recchia "has unrivalled expertise in matters relating to devices for use in media treatment, diagnostics and molecular biology research" and Alex Tzanidis who was described by a client as "highly knowledgeable and such a pleasure to work with".

From DCCL, Managing Principal, Chris Jordan "made frequent appearances before all levels of the Australian courts in a number of significant IP litigation matters"; Paul Dewar "has a detailed understanding of the operation of the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods and Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme" and Ian Pascarl "has a proven track record of success in numerous IP disputes throughout his career".

In New Zealand, Humphrey Foote "is centred around protecting the rights of innovators in the agricultural, horticultural, pastoral, forestry, life science and biotechnology fields" and Scott Sonneman "takes good care of engineering and IT matters, putting his experience as a software developer and engineer to good use".

In Singapore, Thomas Griffiths and Kian Hoe Khoo also make their debut in the IAM Patent 1000 rankings. Thomas "has a passion for understanding how clients intend to use their intellectual property and develops IP strategies to suit these needs" and Kian Hoe, who was recently elevated to Principal, "excels at drafting and prosecuting patent applications" and was described by a client as "well-prepared" and "extremely reliable".
