Three deals on which Jones Day provided advice were recognized at LatinFinance's 2019 Deals of the Year Awards:

  • Cross-Border M&A Deal of the Year, in which Jones Day advised ENGIE on the US$8.6 billion TAG pipeline acquisition;
  • Restructuring of the Year, in which Jones Day represented Mexico's Ministry of Finance and MEXCAT in the US$1.8 billion tender offer of bonds and consent solicitation; and
  • Financing Innovation of the Year, in which Jones Day advised Banco Santander México, BBVA Bancomer, and other lenders in connection with a sustainability-linked revolving credit agreement for US$1.1 billion to Fibra Uno.

LatinFinance's Deals of the Year Awards recognize excellence in transactions in the Latin American and Caribbean capital markets. For the 2019 awards, the editors considered deals completed between October 1, 2018, and September 30, 2019, evaluating them on the basis of size, complexity, innovative elements, market significance, and execution. Each decision requires a consultation process involving a range of industry authorities.
