Ogier BVI partner Brian Lacy is speaking at two seminars in
Russia run by the UK Department for International Trade on debt
recovery and asset tracing starting today.
Brian is speaking at the eighth Annual English/Russian Legal
Seminar events in Yekaterinburg (10 September) and St Petersburg
(11 September).
The sessions, organised in conjunction with the British Russian
Law Association, will cover claims against UBO's, guarantors
and other third parties, jurisdictional issues about pursuing
claims against foreign debtors, the practical use of freezing
injunctions and funding options for litigation and arbitration.
Brian leads Ogier's dispute resolution team in the BVI. His
practice focuses on asset-tracing and preservation, especially in
the context of civil fraud disputes and insolvency.
Brian said: "Russia is a key region for BVI dispute
resolution and it is particularly welcome to have lawyers from
London, Russia, BVI and Cyprus all speaking at the same event and
being able to explore jurisdictional and cross-border
issues."
Ogier are sponsors of the seminars, together with Lidings,
Littleton Chambers, George Georgiou & Associates, Gateley plc
and Puchkov & Partners.
